Desmond Taljaard
Deputy Chair
Desmond Taljaard is Deputy Chair of L+R, providing strategic leadership across the business and sitting on all Investment Committees, including the LRO Hospitality JV with PGGM. Previously, Desmond led London & Regional Group Hotels as Managing Director, overseeing a global hospitality portfolio and growing the estate from 10 hotels to more than 120. Desmond has also held senior roles at Starwood Capital, Whitbread, Sainsbury’s, and Hilton International, and trained as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Whinney (now EY).
Cody Bradshaw
Group CEO, Hotels
Cody Bradshaw currently serves as Group CEO – Hotels at L+R, a privately held global investment firm with a £10bn+ wholly owned real estate portfolio, including 128 hotels across 9 countries, and a more than 30-year track record of value creation. The firm operates across Hotels, Commercial Real Estate, Private Credit, and Ventures, including its market-leading hotel operating platforms (Atlas Hotels and Iconic Hotels & Resorts), offering capital partners a vertically integrated platform with unmatched alignment of interest through significant co-investment and flexible capital. Most recently, Cody played an integral role at Starwood Capital Group over 13 years, where he served on the firm’s Investment Committee and was instrumental in leading the global hotel team and business as the firm grew from $20b AUM to $120b AUM and was awarded Global Hotels & Leisure Investor of the Year and Global PE Firm of the Year on numerous occasions by Private Equity Real Estate (PERE) Magazine. A graduate of Cornell University, Cody co-created the Certified Hotel Asset Manager (CHAM) professional designation program, which launched in 2012, is the Co-Founder and past-President of the Hospitality Asset Managers Association (HAMA) of Europe, and previously served on the Board of Directors of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA).
Leon Shelley
General Counsel
Leon heads up the Group’s Legal Team having joined just over four years ago. Previously, Leon was the European General Counsel at Westfield for 13 years where he worked on some of the largest real estate transactions and developments in the UK and Europe. Leon is also a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Joe Pettigrew
Group Chief Commercial Officer, Hotels
Joe Pettigrew leads L+R's commercial strategy across revenue, distribution, sales, and marketing, with responsibility for maximizing performance and accelerating growth across the firm's global hotel portfolio. With over 20 years of experience across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, Joe joined L+R from EOS Hospitality and previously spent 11 years at Starwood Capital Group as Chief Commercial Officer, Hotel Asset Management, with earlier senior roles at Expedia, The Palms Casino, and Marriott International.
Andy Fish
Group Chief Financial Controller
Andy Fish brings over 25 years of finance and asset management experience across the real estate and hospitality sectors. Most recently, Andy served as Global CFO for YOTEL and previously spent 12 years as European CFO for Westmont Hospitality Group and held the position of SVP Asset Management at GIC Real Estate. Andy qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Coopers & Lybrand.

Mitch Friend
Group Finance Director
Mitch Friend is Group Finance Director, responsible for the financial stewardship of the Group’s international real estate portfolio. He oversees financial control, reporting, tax, and treasury across a complex multi-jurisdictional structure, supporting the business as it continues to grow. Working closely with the executive and investment teams, he plays a key role in the acquisition, disposal and financing of major property assets and corporate vehicles. A Chartered Accountant and Mathematics graduate of Durham University, Mitch brings extensive international experience in group reporting, technical accounting and treasury strategy.
James Else
Construction Director
James Else is the Construction Director at L+R, having joined the business in September 2025 to lead the construction of its UK real estate developments. He is recognised for his ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, drive clarity of scope, and maintain rigorous control across all stages of the development, procurement, construction, and occupation process. Prior to joining L+R in 2025, he spent eight years at Landsec working on several high-profile schemes, including Lucent W1 at Piccadilly Circus & Row One, Southwark.
James Troughton
Chief Investment Officer, CRE
James leads UK and European commercial investment activities at L+R, with responsibility for origination, underwriting, structuring, and execution of complex real estate transactions across multiple asset classes. Prior to joining L+R, James was a Vice President at Cording Group (subsequently acquired by Edmond de Rothschild Real Estate Investment Management). There, he focused on large-scale portfolio acquisitions, structured transactions, and non-performing loan investments across the UK, working on value-add and opportunistic strategies involving complex capital structures and asset repositioning. James has over 17 years of experience in commercial real estate investment. He began his career in Hong Kong as an investment principal concentrating on the office and serviced apartment sectors, gaining early exposure to cross-border capital and institutional transaction processes.
Tim Weston
Commercial Director
Tim joined L+R in 2025 as Commercial Director, having 20 years’ experience within commercial property. His previous roles spanned fund management, Real Estate Investment Trusts, and private equity, where he led some of the largest leasing transactions within the West End. At L+R, Tim overseas Leasing and Marketing, Development, and Asset & Property Management within the Commercial Group.
Helen Mc Carthy
Investment Manager
Helen is responsible for managing the relationship with new and existing lenders to the group. She brings considerable knowledge and expertise with over 20 years‘ experience spanning real estate investment, debt, and equity raising and the management of interest rate risk. In this role, Helen has led the negotiating, structuring, and execution of debt finance in excess of GBP 2.5bn across a wide variety of asset classes in the group including a significant number of landmark transactions and complex multi lender transactions. More recently Helen has secured new debt financing for a number of the group’s hospitality assets, most notably the refinance of its Atlas Select Service portfolio in the UK. Helen is a Chartered accountant and is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Geoffrey Springer
Planning & Development
Geoffrey has over 40 years’ experience throughout the various facets of the property industry comprising commercial and residential development. He joined London & Regional Properties in June 1999 and has been responsible for coordinating the property development strategy of the business. He is responsible for managing the company’s largest developments.
Sean Lowe
CEO, Atlas Hotels Group
Sean Lowe has been with L+R since 2017, serving as CEO for the Atlas Hotels Group, the firm's portfolio of UK select service hotels, with primary focus on commercial optimization and revenue management. Previously, Sean served as Managing Director of RCI EMEAI and James Villas holidays, spending over a decade with Wyndham, and held senior roles at TUI including Head of Planning, Trading, and Yield Management. Sean holds a First Class degree in Economics from Leeds and Santander Universities and speaks fluent Spanish.
Anthony Fragoso
SVP and Head of Asset Management, North America
Anthony Fragoso joined L+R in 2023 and leads all asset management activities across the US and Caribbean hotel portfolio. Prior to L+R, Anthony spent nearly eight years with RFR Holdings, where he oversaw hospitality investments including W South Beach, the Gramercy Park Hotel, and the Jaffa Luxury Collection Resort, with previous roles at Starwood Hotels, Denihan Hospitality Group, and Caesars Entertainment. Anthony holds a BS in Hotel Administration with a minor in Real Estate from Cornell University.
Tim Perini
Head of Capex & Project Management
Tim Perini joined L+R in 2023 and leads all hotel capex and project management efforts for the firm's US and Caribbean hotels. With over 30 years of experience in real estate development and construction, Tim previously worked with Starwood Hotels & Resorts overseeing branded residential development for St. Regis, Luxury Collection, W Hotels, and Westin, and at Alfred Weissman Real Estate managing The St. Regis Residences, Rye. Tim holds a BA and MBA from Harvard University and a master’s in engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
Christophe Bellonie
Finance Director, Hotels
Christophe Bellonie leads the finance teams and asset management activities for L+R, overseeing hotel finance, treasury, compliance, and policies across the portfolio, while serving as a key member of the transactional team for new projects and due diligence. With more than 30 years of international experience, Christophe has worked as a Finance Director for 15 years, including roles with Hilton Worldwide in Africa and Europe and Virgin Limited as Regional Finance Director in London and the Caribbean.
Andrew Stembridge
Executive Director, Iconic Hotels & Resorts
Andrew Stembridge leads Iconic Hotels & Resorts, L+R's collection of notable, individual, and award-winning properties. Andrew joined L+R Hotels in 2006 as Managing Director of Chewton Glen and was voted Hotelier of the Year in 2010, simultaneously appointed Chairman of the Master Innholders, and served as an International Board Member of Relais & Châteaux from 2010 to 2018. Andrew is a Fellow of The Institute of Hospitality, Master Innholder, and graduated with joint honours in Hotel Management and Tourism from Strathclyde University.
Shan Kanagasingham
Chief Operating Officer, Iconic Hotels & Resorts
Bringing 30 years of luxury hospitality leadership across operations, brand positioning, and performance. Most recently, Shan served as Senior Vice President at Auberge Resorts Collection, helping scale the portfolio from 8 to more than 30 properties by leading global openings, transitions, and European operations, and driving significant growth in revenue under management. Previously, Shan held senior operations roles with SH Hotels & Resorts, playing a key role in launching and scaling 1 Hotels and Baccarat Hotels, and led award-winning properties including The Surrey and Viceroy Miami.
